A Vilano Bike arrives to the customer in a factory direct state, and 90% assembled. Like any factory direct bike, it needs to be properly assembled/tuned prior to riding.

The remaining work is not too challenging. The front wheel, pedals, and handlebars need to be installed, derailleurs adjusted (if applicable), brakes adjusted, all other installed parts need to be tightened, greased, and/or lubed, and the wheels may need to be trued.

You are welcome to assemble the bike yourself but if you are not comfortable with the process, we strongly suggest taking it to a local bike shop for assembly/tuning. It is a good idea to build a relationship with your local bike shop, just like an auto mechanic for your car.

Please remember that Vilano Warranty does not cover improper assembly, failure to receive follow-up maintenance or lack of technical skill by the user. If you do decide to assemble the bike yourself, please be sure to take it to a local bike shop for a safety check before your first ride. This will ensure your safety and will allow the warranty coverage to continue.
